February 22, 2012, 5:49 pm
Are you kidding? I read every word! I am so happy that this nightmare has come to a close for you. I have been praying for your family all week (since you posted that your court date was this Tuesday) and have been so anxious to hear a reply from you. It's so good to hear of your positive court...

Adoption training online
February 22, 2012, 8:38 am
our agency required us to complete a training course through Heart of the Matter Seminars. The one we did was a multiple part session that was maybe $150, but it was good. Last adoption, we did some courses through Adoption Learning Partners and I think it was free (that was in 04/05).
Do we need to renew russian passports?
February 20, 2012, 1:51 pm
I'm laughing at the timeliness of this as I just had an e-mail from a friend who is taking her son back to visit Russia, and she is having a nightmare of a time getting a new Russian passport him. They hadn't planned to go back to visit this soon, so let his passport lapse. Now, an opportunity to...

Region choice - Krasnoyarsk, Moscow or other??
February 19, 2012, 10:32 am
i adopted from both kras and st. petes and one benefit of kras is that you can get your child's passport in one day, so after you pick up your child the time in region is much shorter. in st. petes, it took 5 days to get passport, so my third trip was much longer.

Some breakfast foods that would be familiar... --Kefir! (It's a bit like yogurt and a bit like buttermilk.) --Oatmeal (even instant) --fruit compote (often given in a bottle, too) --bread My daughter ate oatmeal, yogurt and a banana for breakfast most days the first year. (It seems like all our...
Recommendation recommendations
February 16, 2012, 6:05 am
I know that my very practical, accountant-freinds were asked to be a bit more effusive in their first effort. ;> I'd ask your agency for some guidelines. My guess is they should tell how long they've known you and in what context. They should tell WHY they think you'll be good parents. Have them...
Russia to suspend adoptions????
February 14, 2012, 10:06 am
That is good news. I have spoken to several people who have been through this adoption process. All have said the same thing as Tiger.....These hangups are part of the process. So, I just refuse to get too worked up (at least I am trying) and keep faith that it will all work out fine:) Thank...
Circ. question
February 13, 2012, 6:18 pm
We brought DS home at 16 months and had the circumcision done at 17 months. He had no issues other than a little soreness that first day. If you are considering it though, check with your insurance to make sure it is covered.
Officially in the game!

welcome - and i wish you much joy in the journey. it can be a roller-coaster, but it seems that you are used to that with all that you have already been through. our adoption journey was a long and difficult one, and yet, looking back, i wouldn't change anything. i would not have chosen the...

For our imminent travelers, Maggie99 (I didn't know you'd had court. Congratulations!!) leaves Sunday and Beaglepup leaves March 9, especially in this tense political climate, I'm praying that your paths are made straight and your children are safely in your arms very, very soon. Breathe. Can't...
30 day wait
February 13, 2012, 8:10 am
We were also told 30 calendar days. Ours is turning out to be nearly 45 calendar days before going back though so that facilitators can begin paperwork, etc. Plus, I think the upcoming holiday on the 23rd and 24th will push our decree back to be issued on the 27th.
